Are you “always-on” at work and bring that into your weekend? Well, this is a great way to notice you need to work on limits and boundaries in your life.
Taking work home contributes to long hours involved in work-related activities that adds to a prolonged experience of stress, interrupts social plans, results in less time spent with loved ones and creates distance in relationships,
If work is stressful, demanding and restricting, taking it home will interfere with mind-body recovery and the recuperation process. The mind needs to decompress and clear.
🔴At Work (Monday-Friday)
Get stuff done.
Set expectations for off time.
Have a chat about overtime.
🔴After Work (Saturday and Sunday)
Peace out. Turn off that work phone and don’t check work email. When you’re out, you’re out.
Boundary! If you have an intense fear of missing out, at least take Saturday or Sunday off. Do not check emails! Practice self-control. Live a little 🙂
Creating these limits and boundaries are essential for your mental health! Write your list of hobbies.
Photography? hiking? boxing?
Try something new and different for a change!
Don’t live to work!
Work to live!
One day you will regret not taking time to live and missing all the great moments.
